Dirt Chickens Everywhere!
This idea actually crossed my mind some time ago, and basically it goes as such...
Many Iraqi insurgents are dirt chickens. Hicks. Mysogonist, religiously fanatic, inbred, poor, ill-educated gomers. Yup, that's about it. It seems kinda weird, but I do believe it's the truth. I've heard some excusing of insurgent actions because of their "cultural buffer", but the truth is, if you ignored the fact that they were foreign, there would be little to no doubt in peoples minds that they were really a large group of violent dirt chickens, praisin' God and raisin' hell.

Actually, suicide bombers over there in particular are often well educated and from upstanding families. But I think most of them are Syrian...
I dunno, just thought I'd throw that out there. Jeff knows more about this than me. Imagine that.
Suicide bombers come from all over the place, Syria has no particular monopoly. In Iraq, it's thought that they're mostly Sunni Iraqis and Saudis.
General insurgents, however, may be closer to what Ben is describing. Then again, Iraqis tend to be fairly well educated, if I remember correctly. Granted, that's under Saddam's rule, so certainly a lot of their education is skewed, but yokels they don't seem to be.
Satire, amigo. The bombers in Iraq actually aren't Iraqis a good deal of the time, they come across the border with hopes for Jihad. Oddly enough, the Iraqis haven't claimed Jihad themselves just (+insert correct word here+), which means more of a coup then anything.

Wasup yo, interesting proposition, but didn't the 9/11 bombers attend college, and also had pilots licenses? I wonder where they were actually from.
